The purpose for the Monmouth Tea Party

The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.

We have moved off wordpress and are now hosting our own web site.

TEA Party Rally Tomorrow!

Everyone,

The TEA Party Rally at the Monmouth Square is tomorrow! Please be there if you can. It is important that we show our government representatives that they work for us, not us for them. We have two great speakers (Richard Johnston & Jim Bennett). We will have petitions to sign and information about the new Monmouth TEA Party group and more.

The Rally is from 9:30am to 11:00am on Monday. Please take this time out of your holiday weekend and support the reason why we celebrate this weekend; Freedom from a tyrannical government.

Thomas Jefferson said: “In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.”

This is what we must do with our governmental representatives and this is what the TEA Party is all about.

Please be there if you can.

19 Reasons Why The Federal Reserve Is At The Heart Of Our Economic Problems

If the U.S. government had been issuing debt-free money all this time, the U.S. government would likely not be spending one penny on interest payments.  Instead, the U.S. government spent over 413 billion dollars on interest on the national debt during fiscal 2010.  This is money that belonged to U.S. taxpayers that was transferred to the U.S. government which in turn was transferred to wealthy international bankers and other foreign governments.

Letter Re: The Argument for Return to Constitutional Principles - SurvivalBlog.com

Heritage is fleeting.  Lest we recognize ours is a nation of excellence, it shall be lost.  Liberty is not offered lightly; it is guaranteed to freemen, having been procured by the blood of patriots and defined by the United States Constitution.  Those who declare liberty, do so with the knowledge that all men are created equal, while those denying liberty do so considering men as subjects.

Monmouth Tax Day Tea Party

The corn fields of Monmouth, Illinois....actually the Quad at Monmouth College will be filled with people on April 15th, 2010(Tax Day) to show our support of bringing the government back to its roots. This rally is to promote the ideas that our founders had, and instilled in the Constitution and Bill Rights.

Featured speakers will be Professor Richard Johnston of Monmouth College's Political Economy and Commerce Department, Bobby Schilling-Republican candidate running for Congress on a small government, fiscally responsible platform against Democrat Rep. Phil Hare in Illinois' 17th district. Other speakers are being added and will be announced soon.

This is not so much a protest, but rather a rally for the republic. A republic that believes in civil liberties, low taxes, and a low spending-limited federal government.

If you'd like to help out let us know here on facebook and we will get you started.

Thank you
